Tonight I bribed Erich to stay in the shopping cart with a bag of popcorn & a soda and I'm thankful

1. For my mom, as always, who's so supportive and helpful. She recognizes a need and following through with help without me asking. I heart you, mom.

2. That I controlled myself and spent less than $50 at Target, which is a big deal because a) I got a box of 150 diapers, new plates/cups/bowls for Erich, chicken nuggets, spaghetti sauce, Nutella, and Easter cookies AND b) If given the opportunity, I'm pretty sure I could blow my entire monthly paycheck at Target, easily.

3. For the much needed General Young Woman broadcast; great messages, wonderful music, and pizza with the cute YW of my ward.

4. That tomorrow I don't have to go to work. I'll be at a workshop all day--and those aren't always better than working--but, I am thrilled to not have to be with my students all day. (That's sad, huh?!)

5. For Erich. He's SO incredibly smart. I'm talking, he's counting to 15 (ok, so he counts like this..."2, 3, 8, 11, 13, 15" but still!). I'm also talking, I'm teaching him to say "Happy Birthday, Erich Hubert" and it is the cutest. thing. ever. AND he'll be TWO in one week!

Tonight I laughed so hard I cried and I'm thankful....

1. For a great day care sitter who took care of my sick boy until I could pick him up.

2. That the nurse at Erich's doctor office was able to get us in at the end of the day.

3. For Erich's cute doctor who is skilled and friendly and knew exactly what to do with a double ear infection AND double pink eye.

4. For insurance. And cheap antibiotics. And the pharmacist who gave me a handful of Smarties when she saw how challenging Erich was while we waited for Augmentin.

5. For healthy babies; a good work friend had her baby almost one month early & he's home & healthy; Ben's cousin had her baby today and another cousin is set to have her baby any day, as well. Also, pretty much everyone I know is pregnant. Makes me baby hungry!

Remember that one time when I posted 5 things that I was grateful for every single day ? I decided (with some urging from my mom) to start it up again because I've been in such a low place. Expressing gratitude is one good way to realize how much you really have....

Today I'm grateful....

1. For my beautiful 8-year-old niece, Cassidy, whose birthday it is TODAY. She is amazingly smart, creative, and she LOVES to read! (which is good because I get her a new book every year)

2. For cash that Ben had that I used to get Erich a 2-year-old hair cut. He looks so. grown. up.

3. For my neighboring teacher who totally calmed me down from an after 1st period funk where I thought if one more student complained or stared at me, I was going to burst into tears. And she gave me a handful of chocolate.

4. For moments of inspiration, revelation, and the blessing of prayer.

5. For Skype. While Erich doesn't have the attention span to sit for an entire conversation with grandpa Mike, he LOVES seeing him and I enjoy being able to chat with my dad.
